Chihiro is a girl from the anime and manga Azumanga Daioh. Her last name is speculated to be "Inoue", because of a strip in the first part of the manga, but this has yet to be confirmed. Not much is known about her personality, which allows authors to expand in this area.

Chihiro is not a member of the other girls' fighting squad, being actually the head senator in the Dark Assembly, the ruling body of the Netherworld alongside an overlord. She is only first introduced after being rescued from Akira's clutches, and to explain the tournament, otherwise she has not had much appearance in the story. It has also not yet been revealed how she, a powerful demon herself, got captured by Akira, who is in fact not very powerful at all.
Chihiro makes an appearance in Chapter 8, in which she follows Kaorin into the Cave of Ordeals. She appears again in Chapter 9, when she and Kaorin meet Professor Saisei, and Chapter 10 alongside Kimura and Axel giving the opening ceremony of the tournament.
Azumanga Daioh Returns[]
Chihiro is first seen after Sakaki is arrested. Chiyo is the one to meet her, and Chihiro says she has become a psychologist.
Chihiro would be the one to meet with Kaorin, to try and help her get through Sakaki rejecting her. And although it was unsuccessful, it did help Kaorin to accept the fact that Sakaki had already chosen her love.
It would be later that she was found out to have married Kiyohiko Azuma, making her new name "Chihiro Azuma". She would later make an appearance during the reunion with her husband's "special child", Yotsuba Koiwai, and even show her psychologist powers by knocking out Yukari before she could harm Yotsuba.

Chihiro is presented on the show as the cynical, sarcastic counterpart to Kaorin, whom is also her best friend. One could say that Chihiro keeps Kaorin "in-line" by denying to recognize her insane ideas. Chihiro is often seen sighing at Kaorin's antics and having Kaorin respond that she will "break her" or "slay her".

Chihiro is the Commissar of the Treasury of the Anime People's Revolutionary Democratic Socialist Whatever-It-Is. She is in a open romantic relationship with Ohyama, who is the Commissar of Commerce.
Azumanga Who[]
Chihiro first appears around Episode 12, when she and Kaorin make costumes for Daniel's daughters. She also puts a promotional sticker on Koyomiko's costume, and later mentions that Yukari was sleeping while Daniel worked on the Culture Fest. While normally calm, Chihiro does curse the cold temperature in Episode 24.
She is in love with Kaorin in this universe, which she confesses to Daniel; she silently thanks him after Kaorin agrees to a "best friend day" later on and, in Sakaki's mind, is seen to be possibly married.
Chihiro is scarred for life through the trip to Chiyo's house by the Yukari-mobile (Yukari implying that the girl was taken more or less against her will); later, she blushes upon arriving at Chiyo's Summer home because she got squished next to Kaorin on the way.
During the Great Battle, she merges with her Realm Of Possibility self while running from Susan Wise (touching her other self while thinking she is a mere reflection in a mirror). Unfortunately, this doubles her fear of lightning, which freezes her in place while Susan destroys the area with lightning bolts – which eventually kills her.
